The 18th edition of the International Exhibition for Equipment and Technologies for the Oil and Gas Industry

Neftegaz 2018 is Russia's largest trade show for the oil and gas industry. It ranks in the top ten of the world's petroleum shows.

Neftegaz has once again proved its importance not only for the Russian fuel and energy sector but also the whole global oil and gas industry community. Manufacturers and suppliers from all over the world had a unique opportunity to show their latest equipment and technology to industry professionals, establish and expand business contacts, and discuss all relevant issues facing the industry.

This year Neftegaz was co-located with the 27th edition of the Elektro International Exhibition for Electrical Equipment, Lighting Engineering, Building Automation. The synergy of these projects created a high-profile show of oil and gas and electrical equipment, raised the level and scope of business meetings, and increased the number of professional visitors.  

Once again Neftegaz was joined by the National Oil and Gas Forum. The events brought together representatives of relevant ministries and departments, oil and gas companies, research organizations, equipment manufacturers, key industry experts.

The key event of Neftegaz 2018 was the National Oil and Gas Forum organized by the Russian Ministry of Energy, the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Union of Oil Producers of Russia, and the Russian Gas Society. The forum ran 17-18 April.  

The two-day eventful program featured more than 70 speakers, more than 700 delegates and 100 representatives of leading mass media outlets.  

The forum was opened with the Plenary Session on Technological Development of Russian Oil and Gas Industry in the Midst of Digital Transformation of the Global Economy and Structural Changes, which was moderated by President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sergey Katyrin.  

Leading Russian and foreign experts talked about development prospects of the oil and gas market, changes in the oil and gas industry in the digital economy, development of oil prices, and prospects of the agreement to reduce crude oil production signed in the late 2016 between OPEC, Russia and several countries outside the Cartel. Reports were made by Head of the OPEC Petroleum Studies Department Behrouz Beik Alizadeh and Russian Deputy Minister of Energy Pavel Sorokin.  

The second session of the forum was devoted to import substitution and localization in the oil and gas industry.

Innovative development of all sectors of the oil and gas industry was key topic during all events of the second day of the forum:

  • The Conference on Extraction of Tight and Unconventional Hydrocarbon Reserves, moderated by President of the Union of Oil and Gas Producers of Russia Genady Shmal,
  • The Conference on Development of the Bazhenov Formation: Economics and Technological Aspects,  
  • The Round Table on Drivers of Internal Growth and Export Potential of Russian Petrochemical Industry,
  • The Round Table on New Tools for Energy Markets in the Blockchain Era,  
  • The Foresight Session on Industry Clusters, Technology Parks, Engineering Centers, and Special economic Zones: Key Stages of "Science – Technology – Business" Transfer of Technologies (organized by the Skolkovo Foundation).

The round table on growth drivers and export potential of the Russian petrochemical industry was attended by Russian Deputy Minister of Energy Kirill Moldtsov, Principal in Boston Consulting Group's Madrid Office Rafael Moreno, Head of SIBUR's analytical center Ksenia Karetina, CEO of Tatkhiminvest Holding Rafinat Yarullin, representatives of Gazprom Neft Mikhail Kuznetsov, and Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade Maksim Ermolaev.  

The National Oil and Gas Forum was concluded with the joint meeting of the Oil and Gas Industry Veterans Council and the Oil and Gas Industry Youth Council.
