Optimal solutions for automation of oil and gas industry

The conference programme of Neftegaz 2026 hosted the Panel Discussion on Automation of the Oil and Gas Industry: the Search for Optimal Solutions for Sustainable Development. The event was organised by EXPOCENTRE AO with the support of RegLab and Prosoft-Systems Group.

Its moderator was Vasil Sharifullin, Director of Government Relations at the Association of Russian Electronics Developers and Manufacturers.

According to industry experts, automation is a strategic area in which it is necessary to achieve technological sovereignty and continuously develop own developments and competencies. The conference participants discussed the issues of automation of technological processes in the oil and gas industry, taking into account the interests of all parties to this process and ensuring the stable development of Russian developments and solutions that meet the expectations of customers and government requirements.

In the dialogue format, the parties shared their vision and discussed the capabilities of customers to implement effective, cost-competitive solutions, conditions for the development of Russian solutions for automated process control systems, and the impact of regulations on the market.

The discussion participants included Sergey Gokhshtein, Deputy Director of the Automated Control System Department at Transneft, Aleksander Malko, Department Head at Gazprom, Ivan Pokrovsky, Executive Director at the Association of Russian Electronics Developers and Manufacturers, Andrey Ulyanov, CEO at RegLab, Dmitry Gogolev, Project Manager at Rosatom State Corporation, representatives of the Russian Ministry of Energy and major companies of the oil and gas industry.
