Anniversary Neftegaz 2021 begins

26 / 04 / 2021

The opening ceremony of Neftegaz 2021, the 20th Anniversary International Exhibition for Equipment and Technologies for the Oil and Gas Industry, a leading international forum involving domestic and foreign oil, gas, and energy industry majors, has taken place at the Expocentre Fairgrounds.

The exhibition was organised by EXPOCENTRE AO together with the German exhibition company Messe Dusseldorf GmbH, with support of the Russian Ministry of Energy, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade and industry unions, under auspices of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Acting Director General of EXPOCENTRE AO Alexey Vyalkin said in his opening remarks that over 400 companies from 23 countries were demonstrating the best innovative solutions for the oil and gas industry this year. These include leading manufacturers and suppliers of oil, gas, and refinery equipment, petrochemical holdings, oil and gas producers and refineries. Companies from Germany and Czechia organised national pavilions.

Traditionally, the Neftegaz exhibition is supplemented with the National Oil and Gas Forum, which makes it one of the biggest professional exhibition and convention venues in the country, he said.

As he was speaking at the opening ceremony, the CCI of Russia President Sergey Katyrin underlined that the fuel and energy sector was a backbone of the Russian economy, while the Neftegaz exhibition was a major technical show demonstrating the capacities of Russian companies and their foreign partners. He welcomed the fact that, despite the coronavirus pandemic, Neftegaz 2021 exceeded the scope of the previous exhibition held in 2019. Importantly, the number of domestic exhibitors has already grown, the Chamber president said.

In turn, Russian Industry and Trade Deputy Minister Mikhail Ivanov noted the impressive list of Neftegaz 2021 participants from over 20 countries which, in his opinion, proved the appeal of the oil and gas machine building industry to a broad range of specialists. It also proves that EXPOCENTRE organises the exhibition on the top level, in strict compliance with epidemiological requirements, the deputy minister said. He highlighted the vast accompanying programme of the exhibition and the National Oil and Gas Forum. Many issues, which will be discussed, are highly relevant. They include, for instance, energy transition, the transborder carbon tax, technological development, and transformation of the fuel and energy sector. The Industry and Trade Ministry is planning to be an active participant in the upcoming debates, Ivanov said.

Deputy Head of the Federal Mineral Development Agency Orest Kasparov, Assistant To The Russian Presidential Administration Chief of Staff Kirill Molodtsov, President of the Russian Union of Oil and Gas Producers Gennady Shmal, President of the Russian Chemists Union Viktor Ivanov, and Messe Dusseldorf Moscow LLC General Director Thomas Stenzel cordially greeted participants, guests and organisers of the Neftegaz 2021 exhibition and the National Oil and Gas Forum.

Neftegaz 2021 is taking place at Pavilions 1, 2, 4 and 7 (halls 3, 4, 5) and on the open grounds of Expocentre Fairgrounds on April 26-29.
