Neftegaz 2016: a landmark event for the Russian oil and gas industry

On April 18-21 Expocentre Fairgrounds hosts the 16th edition of the Neftegaz International Exhibition, which is a major trade show for the Russian and global oil and gas industry. Neftegaz 2016 is organized by Expocentre ZAO and Messe Dusseldorf GmbH (Germany), supported by the Russian Ministry of Energy, held under auspices of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Today it is the world’s top ten petroleum show. For over 30 years Neftegaz has drawn the elite of the global fuel and energy sector. This year it welcomes 700 companies from 26 countries. It is also the first year that the show is co-located with the 3rd National Oil and Gas Forum held by the Russian Ministry of Energy.

 

“Neftegaz is a landmark event for the extraction and processing industry, oil and gas engineering, and oil and gas industry,” said Russian Deputy Minister of Energy Kirill Molodtsov in his welcome address at the official opening ceremony. He expressed his confidence that the contacts established during the events would be supported by both executive and legislative authorities and would provide a new impetus to development of the oil and gas industry.

Chairman of the Russian State Duma Energy Committee Pavel Zavalny emphasized that Neftegaz 2016 allowed seeing the best R&D achievements for oil extraction and refining,  and efficiency of hydrocarbon resources utilization.

According to Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on Natural Resources, Nature Management and Ecology Vladimir Kashin, Neftegaz 2016 also covers such important issues as environmental safety.

“The large exposition of Neftegaz 2016 and the rich program of associated events of the 3rd National Oil and Gas Forum will contribute to active exchange of opinions about industry development, finding effective solutions for both short-term and long-term problems, application of the latest technology, R&D, and expansion of international mutually beneficial cooperation,”  says Director of the Machine-Tool Building and Investment Machine Building Department of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade Mikhail Ivanov.

 

Other participants in the Neftegaz 2016 opening ceremony were State Secretary – Deputy Governor of the Bank of Russia Aleksander Torshin, Deputy Head of the Fuel and Energy Department of Moscow Ivan Novitsky, Director of the Exhibition, Fair and Congress Department of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Igor Korotin, President of the Union of Oil and Gas Producers of Russia Genadiy Shmal, and President of the Russian Chemists Union Viktor Ivanov.  

The event organizers believe that Neftegaz 2016 and the 3rd National Oil and Gas Forum will help to formulate strategic solutions and lay the groundwork for fruitful cooperation, the results of which would be seen next year at the 17th edition of the Neftegaz International Exhibition. Next time professionals of the oil and gas industry will meet on April 17, 2017.
